Planning a Vacation?

Here are some tips from SERVPRO of Morgantown would like you to follow to help save you from hassle and stress when coming home from a relaxing vacation.

1. Have a family member, close friend, or neighbor checking your home daily
2. Provide that person with emergency contact names and numbers
3. Leave your porch light on
4. Cancel mail or have it collected daily
5. Leave written information on alarm codes
6. Unplug electronics to cut down on any possible shortages
7. Check smoke detectors to make sure they are working properly
8. Shut off gas and water at the meter, supply, or appliances
9. Turn off water valves to washing machine, sinks, and dishwasher
10. Adjust your thermostat to 75-80 – should help with control usage
